Angela C. French

Angela C. French

Angela was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 6, 1970. She spent her younger years in Kansas and Missouri. At the age of 10, she moved to Colorado. At the age of 18, she joined the US Navy, where she met her husband Clint, also a US Navy veteran.

When she left the US Navy, she attended college where she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and graduated with honors and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She started teaching in 2000 and continued teaching until 2013. She taught in three different states: Virginia, Indiana, and Connecticut.

She has taught and worked with children from birth through fifth grade. She taught students in regular education, inclusion, special education, remediation, and gifted an d talented.

In 2013 she started working at Really Good Stuff, which was since purchased by Excelligence Learning Corporation. Currently, she develops products and works for the brands Really Good Stuff, Discount School Supply, and Steve Spangler Science.

Ever since she wrote her first book at the age of 5, The Two Lady Bugs, she has wanted to be a children’s book author. Angela’s mother was an artist with Hallmark, and though Angela doesn’t feel she got her mother’s gift of drawing, painting, and pottery, she feels her mother gifted her the gift of creativity. (And her sense of humor!)

Her second-grade teacher, Ms. Shoemaker (Arrowhead Elementary School), is the person who inspired Angela to become a teacher. Ms. Shoemaker made a lasting impression on her through tough, but fair and engaging teaching practices. Angela’ s best memory of second grade was when Ms. Shoemaker convinced the school principal to allow a stray, pregnant cat to give birth to her kittens in the classroom. All the kittens were adopted by the students in the class.

Angela and Clint have one daughter, Elizabeth, who is also very creative and was gifted with her grandmother’s art abilities. She lives in Arizona, where Clint and Angela plan on retiring.

Angela has many interests which also include photography, travel, and cats!
